Christian Greetings!

Welcome to our new Hawaii District website!  As you browse through the site, you will notice not just a new look, but also some added features to help you stay informed with what God is doing in our district, whether you’re a minister, a member, or a non-member looking for a church to belong to.  With more than 70 churches on O'ahu, Kaua'i, the Big Island, Mau'i, Moloka'i, and Lana'i combined - wherever you may live or visit - there is sure to be an Assembly of God church near you.

I am excited to announce our new theme this year: “Going Beyond!” In Eph. 3:20, Paul writes, “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us." I believe this will be a “Beyond year,” to whoever dares to believe God is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think and start living beyond by faith according to the power that works within us!

To live beyond, we must be willing to “Go Beyond” all our fears and failures, complacencies and comfort, norms and traditions, and choose to live the beyond life by the grace of God. God’s word teaches that according to God’s divine power we have been given everything we need to escape the corruption that is in the world by living a godly life and to share in His divine nature. Wow! That sounds like a life Going Beyond! How can we, who have been given everything we need to live godly and share in God’s divine nature, settle to live a normal life and not go beyond?

Jesus’ life was anything but normal. Everything He did was beyond normal. He lived beyond the circumstances. He went beyond his own will to die on the cross. The Gospels are filled with many other examples of how He prayed beyond the norm; forgave beyond the norm; and He loved beyond the norm. In John 14:12-14, He makes an amazing beyond promise: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” And finally, before ascending to the Father, He gives his disciples a beyond commandment: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Jesus not only lived beyond, He commands us to live beyond!

I challenge you - whether you are a full-time minister or a faithful member - to “Go Beyond” in your intimacy with God. Go beyond in your commitment and consecration; go beyond in your service and sacrifice; go beyond in your growing and giving. Remove all limitations that keeps you from going beyond where you’re at, and ask God to upgrade your Operating System (OS) to go beyond all that you can ask or think. Amen!

Finally, please mark your calendar and make plans to be at our District Council, April 14th-17th. This year is significant in that we will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary since becoming a district in the Assemblies of God. Our theme is “50 & Beyond!” I look forward to seeing you there!
