Greetings and Happy New Year!

I am excited to share with you our new theme God has given me for the Hawaii District - LIVE BOLD!

In Proverbs 28:1, it says, “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.”

The word “bold” is defined as, “showing an ability to take risks; confident and courageous…1) bold adventurers: daring, intrepid (fearless), brave, courageous, valiant, valorous (great courage in face of danger), fearless, dauntless (showing fearlessness and determination: dauntless bravery), audacious (showing a willingness to take surprisingly  bold risks), daredevil; adventurous, heroic, confident, assured”

In 2015, there were more attacks on religious freedom and on the family than any year in our nation’s history.  The Supreme Court’s decision to make same-sex marriage a protected class is the clearest example of how far our nation has drifted from God’s spiritual and moral laws, and why the church must not be silent but bold and fearless in preaching the Gospel, standing up for righteousness.

If there is ever a time when the church needs to take a bold stand for righteousness and be fearless in proclaiming the Gospel of Christ, it is today.  If we care for the future of our nation, we cannot be silenced by political correctness or fear of persecution.  Like Peter and John, our response to the threats not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus should be, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge.  For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”  (Acts 4:19-20)

I believe the hope for our nation is not in a political party or in a booming economy; the hope of our nation is in God’s people obeying God's promise found in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

It has been almost two years since being elected as the Superintendent of the greatest district in the Assemblies of God. God has been truly faithful in bringing us to where we are today but I am even more excited to see where He is taking us in the future. He has positioned our district to lead the way, to bring spiritual transformation across our islands by planting healthy churches that build healthy members who are bold as a lion!

Let us arise this year and LIVE BOLD!
